Ghana star Andre Ayew says he has no regrets signing for West Ham despite a torrid time at the London club.

Ayew made the big money - £20m - move to the Hammers in 2016 from Swansea following a successful debut season in the Premier League, scoring 15 goals.

But unfortunately, his 18-month stay at West Ham was blighted by injuries and lack of game time. Brought in to bolster the attack, Ayew could only manage 12 goals in 49 appearances.

However, in his first interview, after resigning for Swansea, the 28-year says circumstances beyond his control resulted to his unsuccessful spell at West Ham.

''When I look at my statistics and everything, as soon as I got injured for a long time and went to the Africa cup and came back, when I look at my time from August to now I think am one of the most efficient players if not the efficient player but am not the one who played the most games.

I don’t have any remorse or regret but I know things could have been much better if I didn’t have these injuries and I played more games.''

Ayew rejoins Swansea on a three-and-a-half-year deal and will be reunited with his brother Jordan.
