Ghanaians only remember me when Black Stars play - Asamoah Gyan advises Kudus amid Saudi interest

Legendary Ghanaian footballer Asamoah Gyan has advised his younger colleague, Mohammed Kudus, to think critically and consider a number of factors before making any decision on the reported offer from Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad.

The West Ham United star is reportedly the subject of a £150 million offer from the Saudi club, which is prepared to make him one of the highest earners in the Saudi league.

The report by ESPN indicates that Kudus could earn a staggering salary of $300,000 per week if he agrees to swap the Premier League for the Saudi League.

Asamoah Gyan, in an interview with Asaase Radio, explained that the decision to move to Saudi Arabia or not will be one of the toughest decisions Kudus will make in his life.

Asamoah Gyan advised Kudus to consider the short span of a football career and also look at the economic situation of most footballers after retirement before deciding on his next course of action.

"If it is true, it would be a very tough decision. I cannot decide for him; it depends on his people. He is young, but if you watch the business model of the game, although we play with passion, football is business."

"In Ghana here, they only mention my name when the Black Stars are playing. Many players have died after retirement. It did not even become news; we did not hear of it. The people who would want to see you play in the EPL are thinking of their personal interest," Asamoah Gyan said.

In the 33 matches for West Ham in the Premier League, Kudus scored 8 goals and provided 8 assists. He also scored five goals in nine appearances in the Europa League.
