'Go and beg Kwesi Nyantakyi or forget about Black Stars success' - Langabel tells GFA

Joseph Langabel, a prominent supporter of the Black Stars and Accra Great Olympics, has stated that the fortunes of Ghana football will continue to decline until the heart of the former president of the Ghana Football Association is appeased.

Langabel told TV3 in an interview that Kwesi Nyantakyi holds the key to the success of Ghana football and that until the nation seeks his forgiveness and assistance, the various national teams will struggle.

He claimed that Nyantakyi’s tenure as GFA president saw some great moments for Ghana football and that some individuals conspired to remove him from office.

“If we don't beg Kwesi Nyantakyi, then we should forget about the success of our football. Since that cartel conspired to remove Kwesi Nyantakyi, has Ghana football experienced any success?

“People made up their minds to destroy the man, and since he left, we've been struggling. In the last three AFCONs, the Black Stars have tasted no success,” he said.

Kwesi Nyantakyi was the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) from December 30, 2005, until June 7, 2018.

His career ended following the Number 12 documentary, which exposed some alleged corruption activities in Ghana football.

Under Nyantakyi’s reign, the Black Stars qualified for three editions of the World Cup.

The highest achievement of the Black Stars under Kwesi Nyantakyi was a quarter-final finish at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
