The head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo, has said that he cannot guarantee the team will triumph over Sudan in the return leg after drawing at home.

According to him, football is full of uncertainties and that he is not able to give an absolute assurance that the Black Stars will clinch a win.

However, he emphasized that the team is well-positioned and will continue to work diligently to ensure that they convert the chances they were unable to utilize in the first match at the Accra Sports Stadium.

“This assurance everybody is talking about, for what? This is football, and I cannot even assure. You know what I can assure? We will try our best, and I know that in the end, we'll be rewarded. And the positive thing is, it's still in our own hands. We have to win the next game.

“And then, if we don’t qualify, then it's still a long way. It's going to be very, very tough to the last match, but we will do it with this performance again. We will do it in Libya against Sudan,” Addo said after the match.

During the game, Antoine Semenyo had a couple of chances but failed to bury them despite the creativity the team had in the game.

Sudan, headed by coach Kwasi Appiah, played defensively for most of the game and their tactics worked to perfection, securing a draw.

Otto Addo has been subjected to criticisms by a section of the fans who were unconvinced with his tactical approach.

The Black Stars' goalless draw against Sudan in the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers has left the team with two points from three matches.

The second match against Sudan will take place in Libya on October 14, 2024.
