Crystal Palace striker Jordan Ayew believes he is on his way to great things after helping the club secure a valuable away victory over Huddersfield Town in the English Premier League on Saturday.

The Ghanaian, who saw 90 minutes of action, assisted Wilfried Zaha for the only goal of the matchday five fixture at The John Smith's Stadium.

It was the 27-year-old's second game for The Eagles since completing a loan move from Swansea City in August.

“I am pleased because we won; the most important thing is the three points," Ayew said, as reported by his club's official website.

"I have been working really hard since I joined the club.

"I did have an opportunity which I could have scored but it is only my second game.

'I feel I am going in the right direction, but as I say, it’s about the result and we needed the team performance.”

Ayew, who can play anywhere across the front line, was deployed as the main scoring threat in a front-three formation.

“Today the shape changed with a 4-3-3 formation but I don’t mind because I just want to be on the pitch," the French-born continued.

"If I am given the opportunity I will give 100 per cent for the team.

“I got a few knocks but that’s football. It’s a man’s game and you expect that with what my position demands. I don’t have any problem with that.”

Last season, Ayew scored seven times in the league for Swansea but his goals could not save the Jack Army from relegation.

He ended the campaign as the club's top scorer.
