Accra Hearts of Oak’s new trainer Mohammed Polo says his appointment has come at an opportune time to fix the club’s current woes.

He told the sporting media during his unveiling at the Media Centre of the Accra Stadium yesterday that the opportunity had presented itself for him to fix Hearts’ current predicament.

“The time has come for me to save the situation. Nobody can fix it better than somebody like myself, a former player, a member of the Phobian family and a true Phobian.

“I am saying I will fix the situation due to circumstances that led to the exit of my predecessor. This was somebody who was doing well. It will take somebody with a big heart to take such a responsibility.

“It is an opportunity and when opportunities present themselves, you seize them. That is exactly what has happened on my third time.

“Anytime you are called upon to perform a duty, you should be ready as a soldier. It will not be easy, I can’t do it alone, as we strive to restore the Phobian glory, but I believe with support from the Board, technical and the playing body, we will go places. I am therefore calling on all to help in this agenda,” said Polo.

A Board Member of the club, Dr Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe mentioned that one virtue that had kept the club running was discipline and noted that the club would continue to stand by its tradition of placing the club’s interest above every individual interest.

The club’s Managing Director, Neil Armstrong Mortagbe revealed that the board considered Polo’s current disposition and demeanor before handing him the job.

Polo will begin his first official assignment this Sunday when the club plays as guests of Ebusua Dwarfs at the Robert Mensah Park.
