I really wish Polo well but he should beware of his pronouncements before the main ballgame starts. It looks as if Polo has discarded his tacit posture as a footballer. What happened to Polo? He seems to have discarded his quiet but passionately intense nature that served him well during his active days as a player. All that I am saying is Polo should curb his criticisms of his predecessor and his promises because whatever he is saying today might be used against him if he fails to deliver on his promises.

It was such a great pressure and deep happiness to read that Accra Hearts Of Oak has finally given coaching appointment to one of their own, Mohammed Polo.

I take this as a deserved honor and a challenge to such a humble and dedicated sportsman who had contributed so much to his club and to his country in football.

I remember, as a player financier with Nima Bus Stop Cosmos team meeting Polo at the late Alhaji Yaro's jackpot shop after a Kotoko-Hearts Accra match where Hearts lost 3-0 after Hearts dominating Kotoko for a long time with their fearsome fives.

It was the first opportune match for Opoku Nti for Kumasi Asante Kotoko against Accra Hearts Of Oak. As soon as Opoku came from the substitute bench, he had a pass and with perfection headed the 4th goal in Cavour of Kotoko which was unbelievably disallowed by the Referee.

When I had the opportunity to meet Polo and questioned him about the disallowed headed goal later the day, Polo, that pillar and tower for Hearts and in his normal humble self discipline and respect replied, that was the most perfect goal of all and he himself could not believe as to why the Referee ruled it out.

The above is to show how Polo was and is a true honest reliable sports man and a religious gentleman who will always say the truth and stand by it even when it's against him.

My next and last meeting with Polo was in Lome the capital of Togo when he was on a visit from Gabon where he played with Gabon Shell together with the powerful shooter Annas Siedu and wanted help to open an account in Lome, Togo.

I took the two straight to the office of the then Ghana Commercial Bank branch in that country, then managed by an elderly friend, Mr Offei. After a brief introduction, the Boss of the Commercial Bank Mr. Offei stood up in respect of Polo and decide to make a personal introduction to all his staff. Immediately Polo's name was mentioned everybody even including Togolese costumers at the premises of the bank stood up in respect of Polo.

Hearts should be grateful to have him to accept such an offer which to me has come late and been long over due.

Wish Polo would be assisted with all the necessary tools and financial support needed to accomplish such a huge task placed on him to exceed the roleS assigned and expectations of all.

As far as I know the coaches job does not include decision making at the boardroom so those pushing Polo to stand up to the board are wrong.If he does that nothing good will come out of it.
