Feyenoord’s Ibrahim Osman returned this weekend after an injury layoff. Osman suffered a hamstring injury prior to the November international window, forcing him to withdraw from Ghana’s squad for matches against Angola and Niger.

The forward, on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion until the end of the 2024/25 season, spent more than four weeks on the sidelines and missed four games in the process, including Feyenoord’s famous 3-3 draw with English champions Manchester City. His last game before the injury was Feyenoord’s 3-1 defeat to RB Salzburg in the Champions League on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.

After weeks away, Osman finally returned to action as Brian Priske named him in the squad for the match against Waalwijk on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Osman entered the fray in the 61st minute, coming on as a substitute for Santiago Giménez.

The 29 minutes on the pitch allowed Osman to show glimpses of his potential. He headed a cross off the post and achieved a passing accuracy of 83%. Osman also recorded 13 touches, using this performance as a step toward regaining full fitness.

Osman’s debut season with Feyenoord has seen him score two goals and provide two assists in nine games. His return is expected to boost his confidence as the season progresses.
