Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has emerged as the target of Italian side Inter Milan for a transfer before the end of the month.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Inter Milan are tracking Atletico Madrid deep-lying midfielder after an exciting season with the Spanish side.
Currently on a deal with Atletico Madrid until June 2023, Thomas, tracked by Neroazzurri last summer already, would be leaving on the 50 million euros exit fee set upon him.
But they will face a tough fight as Manchester City have reportedly enquired about the possibility of signing the Atletico Madrid midfielder.
City have struggled without Fernandinho in the team and the Brazilian is the only natural holding midfielder in the Blues' squad.
The 25-year-old has started just seven La Liga matches from a possible 17 so far this season despite steering clear of injuries and suspensions.
The Manchester Evening News cited a report from journalist Ian McGarry on the Transfer Window podcast that the versatile midfielder is a potential target for the English champions.
“Sometimes I do not feel happy at Atletico,” Thomas told TV station Gol, as cited by Diario AS, earlier this month.
“If you want to change this feeling then you need to be playing in important games and feeling stronger, more confident.
“I have played well so far this season when I have been on the pitch.”
