Former Black Stars captain John Mensah has shared his impressions of coach Otto Addo after the latter took charge of the Black Stars for the second time.
Coach Otto Addo was re-appointed as Ghana’s head coach in March 2024, and in his first competitive matches, he led the Black Stars to two victories.
The Black Stars defeated Mali in Bamako 2-1 before securing a 4-3 win over the Central African Republic in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
In an exclusive interview with GhanaWeb, Mensah disclosed that he was impressed with coach Otto Addo, who he said was his colleague during their playing days.
“He is doing well; it's not easy. You can see how the team was in the beginning before he came, and now he has managed to bring the players back together as a unit,” Mensah told GhanaWeb.com.
He added, “After his first two matches, you can see they are on top of their group, which shows they are doing very well.”
The ex-player wants Ghanaians to “put our trust in him and support him. I think he will continue to do well.”
Otto Addo previously qualified Ghana for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
