Ghana international Jordan Ayew’s proposed move to Crystal Palace has stalled according to reports.

Ayew ended last season as Swansea's top scorer with 11 goals, including seven in the Premier League, but was unable to prevent them from suffering relegation.

The 26-year-old, who joined Swansea from Aston Villa in January 2017, has two years remaining on his contract at the Liberty Stadium and is set to depart for another Premier League club.

Crystal Palace have emerged as a firm destination for the last son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele, but the deal, which was expected to have been signed earlier this week has hit a snag.

Information coming from the English press suggests that Crystal Palace midfielder Jairo Riedewald who is expected to move in the opposite direction (Swansea) is not convinced that a move to Swansea in the Championship suits him.

This means Ayew will have to wait a little while longer before the deal that will take him to Crystal Palace, if at all, will be signed.

Palace are yet to spend a fee on a player this summer, having only added goalkeeper Vicente Guaita, who joined on a free transfer from Getafe.

The Eagles will be Ayew's third Premier League side on the spin — he represented Aston Villa before Swansea.

Hodgson's side get their season underway with a game against newly-promoted Fulham on August 11.
