Karela United coach Johnson Smith is confident of victory against Asante Kotoko in the final of the NC Tier I Special Competition.
The Aiyinase based outfit are eyeing their first major trophy as a club when they face the Porcupine Warriors but coach Smith insists his players will not be fazed by the occasion.
The highly anticipated fixture is scheduled to come off on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The winner of the Tier I tournament will represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League.
“We have trained and played very well in the NC Special Competition which also served as a platform for a lot of my players to gain enough experience to beat Kotoko on Sunday,” the coach told Kumasi-based Otec FM on Tuesday.
He added: “We have played against Kotoko twice in the competition already and we know their strengths and weaknesses as a team and we are working very hard on that to exploit their weaknesses to our advantage.
“I am very confident in my team’s ability and I believe nothing can prevent us from lifting our first major trophy as a club and not even Kotoko with their rich history and huge followers on Sunday, June 23.”
