Injured TSG Hoffenheim defender Kasim Nuhu Adams says he is making steady progress on his road to regaining fitness.

The Ghana international has been out of action since picking up an ankle injury during a German Bundesliga game against Freiburg on September 1.

The setback has not only affected him at club level but also at his national team. The 23-year-old was forced to withdraw from the Black Stars' squad for a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Kenya on September 8 and is almost certain to miss next month's double-header against Sierra Leone.

“I had an ankle injury against Freiburg but I’m recovering [by the day],” Adams told Angel FM.

”I was supposed to be out for six weeks.

"But now I will be back after one month due to the great recovery process.

"I’ve started running and doing gym work but I don’t train with the ball yet."

Adams joined Hoffenheim during the recent summer transfer window, signing a five-year deal from Swiss side Young Boys.

He made two appearances for Die Kraichgaue before being hacked down by the injury.
