Teenager Kelvin Ofori's Bundesliga debut had to wait for another week after the player's expected first league game for Fortuna Dusseldorf was delayed because of an early injury to Markus Suttner.
Ofori was in the match day squad for the game against Freiburg with manager Uwe Roesler ready to hand the 18-year old his debut game.
However, the early substitution of Markus Suttner meant a change in the gaffer's plans.
The former Right to Dream Academy player has made only two senior team appearances in the DFB Pokal and was five times in the match day squad of former manager Friedhem Funkel.
The pacy winger could get his debut when Fortuna welcome Hertha Berlin on Friday.
Andre Hoffman and Erik Thommy scored as Fortuna Dusseldorf defeated Freigburg last Saturday.
