Majeed Waris marked his return to the FC Lorient set up with two assists to haul the relegation threatened side into three crucial points on the road. The Black Stars forward missed out on the last domestic fixture due to accumulated points but returned to halt a run of eight games without a win.
The former Trabzonzor attacker provided his fifth assist of the season to pull one back for Lorient in the 2-3 win at AS Nancy. Cameroon forward Benjamin Mokandjo feasted on the delicate ball from Waris to make the scores 2-1 in the ligue I clash.
The Ghanaian however was not done just yet as he returned deep into the injury time to win the game for the visitors after an earlier equaliser midway through th second half of the game. Majeed Waris located Anthony Mvuemba inside the 18 yard box with anothe great ball and the centre forward only probed home for Lorient. It ended 2-3 and in the process halted a run of 8 league games without a win.
Compatriot Alhassan Wakaso made way on 46 after picking up yet another mandatory booking. Lorient can pull away from the drop if they can get a handsome win over the weekend.
