Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye has declared that he will be meeting the leadership of the Black Stars tonight in Tamale.
This comes after the minster snubbed the customary handshake of players before every Black Stars game against Rwanda in the last match of the 2017 AFCON qualifier at the Accra sports stadium, which created so much hullabaloo in the country.
Nii Lante has disclosed that he is ready to meet the leadership of the side in a bid to empower them ahead of the crunch tie against the Cranes of Uganda
“I will be meeting the management of the Black Stars tonight in Tamale.
“I wouldn’t want anybody to create feud between me and the players. I don’t think it will work” Nii Lante said in an exclusive interview on Nhyira FM.
The Hon. Minister of Youth and Sports was quizzed on whether the rumour making rounds that the bonuses of the players has been increased will be the main topic for discussion.
Nii Lante answered: “The bonus of the Black Stars has not changed, they will receive $8000 in cedis. If it changes, I’ll be the first person to inform public.”
The Black Stars are seeking to qualify to a fourth successive World Cup in Russia after being drawn in Group E against Egypt, Congo and Uganda.
