According to news reports, Coach Kwesi Appiah benched Sulley Muntari in the Black Stars game with Lesotho and Mr. Muntari was so angry that he went straight to the dressing room. I have admired all of the Black Stars. I think they have done a great service for our country and I dare believe they do it for their pride in our country. Mr. Muntari is a member of the Black Stars and has done his part to make us all proud. I am very proud of Mr. Muntari.
Coach Kwesi Appiah is new to coaching a big name soccer team like the Black Stars. The start was not so glamorous but we are on track. I think our team should give the coach the room and all the support that he needs to build a team not just for today, but for all time. Mr. Muntari may disagree with the coach, but I will implore him to be a team player and not show his disagreement so openly when the Coach makes a decision he does not like. In private, sure, Mr. Muntari can express his disagreement though he should not let it go as far as tempers flaring.
Mr. Muntari, we love you. You have made us proud. Please be a team player. Thank you for the years of good football.
