The long awaited fight between Bukom Banku and Bastie Samir is finally set to come off on 30th September 2017. This is after both boxers appended their signature to the contract offered by Box Office Promotions.
Bastie and Bukom have been daring each other for the past two years but now both boxers will have to walk their talk on the 30th of September.
The bout which is of huge expectations will not only see two of Ghana’s finest boxers pit their wit against each other but will also be a clash of two boxing communities; Bastie Samir will be representing Karikari whiles Bukom Banku as his name implies will be representing Bukom.
At the contract signing ceremony were hundreds of boxing lovers who have been clamouring for this fight since 2014.
And if what happened at the event is something to go by then boxing lovers should brace themselves for what could usurp the Banku-Powers bout as the biggest fight to be staged in this country.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of Box Office Promotions, Alex Ntiamoah expressed his happiness that at long last the bout that everyone has been working for will come on.
Bukom Banku on his part vowed to stop Bastie Samir in round six whiles Bastie Samir is confident that he will emerge victorious in the contest.
Both boxers are undefeated with Samir having an impressive record of 29-0, 22 KO’s to Bukom Banku and Bastie Samir 15-0-1, 14 KO’s.
Bukom Banku’s last fight was December 2015 when he stopped his old foe Ayitey Powers in round 8 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, while, Samir recorded a unanimous decision over Sijuola Ade Shabazz last September in the USA.
