French Ligue I side Saint Etienne have joined the race to sign Ghanaian forward Majeed Waris.
The Greens are ready to pounce after FC Nantes failed to activate the € 5.5 million release clause in his contract with FC Porto.
The 27-year old enjoyed a successful loan spell with the Canaries, where he scored five goals in created three assists in 33 Ligue I appearances.
Saint Etienne face stiff competition from an unnamed Chinese club as well as teams in the French top-flight Division.
Waris is currently on national team duties with Black Stars and is expected to decide on his future after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
