Ghanaian striker Patrick Twumasi has revealed the reasons why he turned down Brendan Rodgers and Celtic.
The 26-year-old attracted interest from the Scottish giants after an impressive performance in the UEFA Champions League playoff as he scored twice to help Astana win 4-3 against Celtic.
Twumasi, who was a hot property opted to sign Deportivo Alavés where he made only 11 appearances before leaving to join Turkish outfit Gazi?ehir Gaziantep on loan.
"I remember I had an offer from Celtic, they really wanted me when I was in Astana because I played against them in the Champions League game and I did very well,” he said as quoted by 442gh.com
"Rogers spoke to me after the game and after some days he got my number and called me. He told me he wanted me at the Club.
"Even though I was interested I was weighing the options on the table together with my agent and it happened that we settled on Alaves.
"Maybe Celtic would have been good for me but you never know, such things are bound to happen sometimes.”
Twumasi has been one of the consistent players for Gazi?ehir Gaziantep this term, scoring five goals and registering eight assists in 15 games thus far.
