Defender Phil Ofosu-Ayeh has joined German third-tier club Wurzburger Kickers on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers till the end of the season.

The 27-year-old has had a season-long deal at Hansa Rostock cut short to join the third-tier side.

The Ghanaian joined Wolves in 2017 from German second-tier side Eintracht Braunschweig but didn't play at all last season due to injury.

The right-back has joined Wurzburger Kickers till the end of the season as he aims to revive his career.

"Phil is a dynamic player I know from my time at VfR Aalen. His quality is undisputed, after a last difficult phase, he burns to show his skills. With his commitment, he can take an audience, "says FWK head coach Michael Schiele.

"Phil has already played a number of second-division and almost 100 third-division games and therefore has many experiences. We are pleased that we were able to realize this transfer and that he will start training directly tomorrow ", explains Kickers CEO Daniel Sauer.

"I am glad that the change to Würzburg came about. The talks with those responsible absolutely agree with me, I will give full throttle tomorrow. "says Phil Ofosu-Ayeh.

Born in North Rhine-Westphalia Moers, the full-back spent his youth at VFL and SV Wilhelmshaven and VfL Oldenburg.

His first stops in the professional field were called FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt and MSV Duisburg before Ofosu-Ayeh moved into the 2nd league to VfR Aalen and later to Eintracht Braunschweig.
