Danish side Randers FC are set to engage Ligue 1 Conforoma side Saint-Étienne in a fierce battle for the signature of Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila as the player looks set to end his loan deal with Red Star Belgrade.
FootballMadeInGhana.com can exclusively reveal that the teams have all held talks with the Ghana defender over a possible move with Saint-Étienne looking likely to be his next destination.
Sumaila who is unhappy with lack of playing time at the Belgrade side is set to end his loan spell with them this summer, prompting Randers FC and Saint-Étienne to take the lead in grabbing his signature.
Sumaila is on loan from Kuwaiti side Al Qadsia for an initial period of 6 months, subject to renew.
But the recent happenings at the club, limiting the player’s playing after returning from national assignment has forced him not to renew the deal.
FootballMadeInGhana.com can disclose that Rashid’s contract with Al Qadsia ends in a year and the Kuwaiti giants want to cash in on the Ghanaian, making his move away from Kuwait an eminent one.
Talks are far advanced with both Randers FC and Saint-Étienne and the managing agency of Rashid Sumaila over a possible move to any of the two clubs.
