The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Committee has approved the Match Review Panel’s recommendation to caution referee Abdul Razak Ibrahim to sit up and pay attention to incidents during matches he handles in subsequent GN Bank Division One League games.

The Executive Committee upheld the Review Panel’s recommendation to caution referee Ibrahim after the panel observed reviewed the video of the match between Unity FC and Mighty Royals to ascertain whether the referee had denied Unity FC three clear penalties in the 35th, 47th, 66th and 72nd minutes of the match.

The Review panel observed that the referee was right in his decision in the 35th minute though the 47th minute penalty could not be substantiated and therefore the panel gave the referee the benefit of the doubt.

Also according to the review panel, the goal scored by Mighty Royals in the 66th minute was good goal and the 72nd minute penalty claimed by Unity FC could not be seen on tape.

The Executive Committee’s decision was delivered on this day, Thursday 18th August, 2016.
