Richard Ofori gets Eric Tinkler as new head coach

Goalkeeper Richard Ofori will work with Eric Tinkler at Maritzburg after the club confirmed him as head coach a day after the sacking Muhsin Ertugral.

Tinkler was fired as Chippa United coach in early December but has now found himself a job that will be even tougher than the one he had at the Chilli Boys.

He faces a difficult task of moving Maritzburg from the bottom of the table on 11 points after 18 matches.

They have managed to score just six goals all season long.

The former Orlando Pirates and Cape Town City coach will know that he has a tough job on his hands to ensure the Team of Choice does not get relegated at the end of the campaign.

Ertugral lost all the five games he was in charge of at Maritzburg, so Tinkler will need to motivate the players who are currently low in confidence.
