Sassuolo coach Roberto De Zerbi says 'unique' Kevin-Prince Boateng was his first transfer target.
Boateng made a surprised return to the Serie A after helping Eintracht Frankfurt clinch the German Cup.
He has been in top shape for the side after joining on a two-year deal.
And coach Roberto De Zerbi has revealed the Ghanaian has always been his top transfer target.
"Unique, exceptional, he is the first player I wanted." he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
Boateng has previously played for AC Milan as well as Las Palmas, Schalke 04, Hertha Berlin, Tottenham Hotspur and Portsmouth.
