Ugandan striker Steven Mukwala is on the verge of signing with Tanzanian giants Simba SC after his contract with Asante Kotoko expired.
Reports from the East African country indicate that the 24-year-old is poised to sign a three-year deal with the club, earning a substantial salary following his reputation as a prolific scorer in the Ghana Premier League.
Negotiations with Simba are reportedly in advanced stages, with Mukwala set to receive a sign-on fee of $130,000 and a monthly salary of $9,000.
Mukwala joined the Porcupine Warriors in 2022 and has been instrumental, scoring over 25 goals in 65 league appearances.
The 24-year-old striker netted 14 goals in 28 Ghana Premier League matches during the 2023-2024 season, helping Kotoko secure a sixth-place finish in the 18-team league.
He shone in the Super Clash against arch-rivals Accra Hearts of Oak SC, scoring in both fixtures, including a brace in the second leg at the Baba Yara Stadium.
In his debut season, Mukwala tallied 11 goals and provided five assists across 31 league matches.
