The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has pledged to build a modern stadium in Bolgatanga, located in the Upper East Region.
He highlighted that the region has many untapped talents due to the lack of adequate sporting infrastructure.
Mahama emphasized that the proposed stadium will be a state-of-the-art facility, unlike the substandard ones built in other areas of the country.
During his campaign tour in Bolgatanga, Mahama outlined his plans to enhance sporting infrastructure in the region to help uncover talents that could represent the nation in the future.
“This can happen, including a modern sports stadium for Bolgatanga. Because in sports, you can create jobs. We have a lot of talents here; we have the young Michael Essiens, the young Azuma Nelsons, and young athletes here.
"We must have a modern stadium where they can practice and realize their full potential. Unlike the two-by-four stadiums being built in some places, we are talking about a modern stadium with all the facilities,” the NDC flagbearer said in a video shared by GhOne TV on X, on August 7, 2024.
Mahama will be contesting the 2024 general elections against NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and other political party candidates.
The general elections are scheduled for December 7, 2024.
