Ghanaian boxer and comedian, Braimah Kamoko, popularly known as Bukom Banku, has announced the end of his boxing career in Ghana.

According to Bukom Banku, he is no longer interested in pursuing his career in this country because of intense hatred and attack on his personality.

Hence, he intended relocating to the United Kingdom in order to take his fight to the international level.

Bukom Banku disclosed that he took this decision because he feels he no longer appeals to Ghanaians and all love for him is lost, therefore he does not feel safe, stated a report by Modernghana.com.

He revealed further that his indulgence in mainstream politics has earned him so much enemies, adding that some people want him dead because of his political affiliation.

According to Bukom Banku, his lost to Samir Bastie on October 21, 2017 proved to him that Ghanaians no longer love him.

“The massive excitement generated after my loss to Bastie told me that people wanted my downfall.”

“I also suspect that some people want to kill me because of the political party I belong to,” Banku added.

An obviously sad Banku praised himself as the one who has made boxing in Ghana a popular and attractive sports.

Therefore, he does not understand why people should hate him after striving to keep Ghana boxing “alive and kicking” all these years.

“I single-handedly promoted Ghana boxing and made it what it is today; I am the face of Ghana boxing and now they want to kill me.”

“Everyone was happy I lost to Bastie, some even want me dead,” Banku decried. He further sent a goodwill message to comrade Ayittey Powers as he gets ready to fight Gbese Bruno come March 10, 2018.

Bukom Banku lost his first fight to Samir Bastie after he defeated Ayittey Powers in non-title fights two years ago.
