Thomas Partey featured as Atletico Madrid started the season with a 1-0 victory over Getafe on Sunday evening.
The Ghanaian international lasted 65 minutes in the opening day win.
Both sides were reduced to 10 men in the first half during the feisty clash at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Alvaro Morata scored the match-winner with a fine header after Kieran Trippier delivered a brilliant ball from the right.
