The Black Stars have been told to tighten their defence as they prepare to meet Egypt.
Making the call, Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe, ex-GFA Boss, said he was not impressed with Ghana’s center back position, especially in their last two matches.
In this regard, he said he would be happy if national coach Kwasi Appiah strengthened that position.
According to him, Ghana’s date with Egypt would be a cracker so the need for the Starts to tighten all loopholes. Ghana would host Egypt in the first leg of the 2014 FIFA World Cup eliminator on October 15.
Dr. Tamakloe said on radio that he was impressed with all departments of the Black Stars with the exception of the central defence unit.
He, therefore, tasked Coach Appiah to strengthen that department to avert any shock by Egypt.
Dr. Tamakloe said also that he was not enthused about goalkeeper Richard Kingson’s recall to the team after a long absence.
He observed that Kingson was old now so his reflexes wouldn’t be as sharp and accurate as the younger goalkeepers available for selection.
Consequently, he urged the handlers of the team to rather concentrate on Fatawu Dauda and the others.
