Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri believes fans of the club are demanding too much of Ghanaian youngster Calum Hudson-Odoi, and that can be dangerous for the player's development.

Hudson-Odoi climbed off the bench to score as Chelsea beat Dynamo Kyiv 3-0 in the first leg of the Europa League last 16 tie.

Fans of the club chanted for the teenager to be brought on in the second half with the scoreline at 2-0.

"I am convinced, he doesn't have to do anything to convince me. He is a very good player. He needs to improve. At 18 he can't be at the top,' Sarri said when asked if the teenager can fulfill his potential.

"He will be ready to be at the top at 22 or 23 years. We need to improve without the media of the pressure of the media, fans the club. His training is really very good," he added.

"When you have pressure when you are 18 it is dangerous, you can lose the target. The target is to improve. So it is dangerous. This is why I don't like to speak about him."

Hudson-Odoi was close to leaving Chelsea in the winter transfer window but the Club rejected a transfer request from the youngster.
