Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has confirmed that two key players will miss the team's game against Niger in Morocco.

According to the manager, Jerome Opoku and Joseph Paintsil will not be available due to various reasons.

Speaking ahead of the game, he noted that Opoku has developed back pain and has travelled to Turkey for treatment.

“Jerome had serious back problems. His body couldn’t adapt to the training ground in Kumasi, and it became so serious that he had to return to his club for special treatment,” Addo said.

Joseph Paintsil, on the other hand, could not get his paperwork through for the trip to Morocco and thus has been ruled out of the game.

Black Stars have set their sight on beating Niger to get their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations hopes back on track after losing their opening against Angola.

The game is scheduled for 16:00 GMT at Stade Municipal de Berkane in Morocco.
