Uncle T United were 'very stubborn'- Hearts coach, Kim Grant

Hearts of Oak coach Kim Grant has described Uncle T United as "stubborn" despite beating the division one side in a six-goal thriller.

Grant after winning 4:2 in their rescheduled match heaped praises on Prampram-based side.

Two additional goals from substitutes Obeng Junior and Kofi kodji helped the phobians to advance to the next stage of the tier 2 in the NC special competition.

The game played on Thursday morning saw Hearts of oak concede two goals in Accra for the first time under Kim Grant. And the former Black Stars striker had no choice than to commend Dawda Luttrodt's boys for giving him a match.

The game was postponed to Thursday morning because of Wednesday's heavy downpour.

The visitors drew the first blood in the 41st minutes but their lead was short-lived as Joseph Esso leveled after connecting from a cross from Christopher Bonney two minutes later to ensure they went into went into the break at 1-1.

The Phobians were however forced into making a change before the break as Kwadwo Obeng Jnr came on for Michelle Sarpong, who got injured.

Christopher Bonney scored from the spot to sent the Rainbow club ahead in the 60th minute and but the "stubborn" United pulled parity two minutes later.

With ten minutes left on the clock, Kwadwo Obeng Jnr headed the Phobians to the lead from a Bonney corner before Kofi Kodzi added gloss to a fine performance by making it 4-2 with three minutes left.

Hearts are through to the round of 16 and will be playing host to Unistar Academy in Accra on Sunday following a draw held on Thursday afternoon.

The Phobians who won the zone B of the Normalisation Committee Special Competition have now joined rivals Asante Kotoko, AshGold and 12 other clubs in the last 16 of the Special Cup.

The winner of the Special Cup will pick Ghana slot for the CAF Confederation Cup next year.
