Ghana and Barnsley defender Andy Yiadom was close to joining both Swansea City and Huddersfield Town in the summer but could finally get his Premier League chance with West Brom. Yiadom has been forced to wait in order to get his chance in the Premier League.
As reported by the Wales Online, the Barnsley full-back was close to joining newly promoted Huddersfield Town in the summer transfer window, only to fail his medical. And a deadline day switch to Swansea City also fell through, as the required paperwork was not completed in time.
He may be hoping for better luck during the January transfer window with another Premier League club on the radar to make the Ghana international a top flight player. The Birmingham Mail reports that West Brom are interested in signing the £2.5 million-rated right-back.
Yiadom will be out of contract at the end of this season and is understood to have rejected a new deal. Therefore, Barnsley could be forced to cash in on a player they signed on a free transfer from Barnet back in the summer of 2016. After the disappointment of failed moves to Huddersfield and Swansea, will it be third time lucky for Yiadom in January?
