Final match of Eastern Regional Under 14 rained off

Koforidua, (E/R) Nov. 28, GNA - The final football match between Akim Tafo Fantiakwa Football Club and Akim Oda Kotoku Royals to determine the winner of this year's Eastern Regional Under 14 soccer league championship was rained off. The competition which came off at the Koforidua sports stadium was rescheduled to Saturday, December 1 at the same venue. When the rains set in at the 58th minute none of the sides was able to convert their chances to score any goal and with the intensity of the rains, the referee had not alternative than to call off the match. Kotoku Royals on their way to the finals defeated Asenema Trinity FC one-nil while Fantiakwa defeated Nkawkaw Crystal Palace F/C 3-2 on penalties after both sides had tied one all at full time. 12 clubs from the various districts and towns of the region took part in league and were grouped in four groups with the winners of the groups meeting at the semi-finals.
