If the Ministry of Sports is responsible for paying bonuses, then they must be responsible for calling the shots at GFA. The ministry cannot be responsible for paying coaches' salary and players' bonuses but cannot make decisions at the GFA. Maybe Ghana must challenge FIFA in court to straighten things up that the government cannot interfere in football administration.

I have the same complaints. It's only in Africa that the government has to take care of football. In Europe the FAs are independent of the government just as FIFA wants it. They're able to fund themselves because of lucrative leagues but in Ghana everything is on government. And by the regulation of FIFA the government can't interfere with with the running of football so anybody in their right frame of mind would say the government must protest or stop investing in football but they still do it because that's how they are able to steal money. How can you budget over $8 million for a tournament that has a prize money of $7 million especially at a time the economy is struggling?

I believe before the suggested rush to challenge FIFA in court, there are some issues we need to deal with internally. We all know and agree that our GFA is corrupt and the members main interests are filling their personal pockets. However, this issue of bonus may be more complicated than just the word bonus. When we receive funds for taking part in tournaments, does it go into GFA Accounts or the Accounts of the Ministry of Sports that decide how much to credit the GFA? When the GFA assemble players for tournaments, are there obligatory rules for bonus, depending on how far the team goes in a tournament and where the funds will come from for the bonus? What we hear lots of times is some 'Government Official' announcing at the end of tournaments that the Black Stars or the Black Queens will receive a 'BONUS' of so and so. Other than FIFA 'Appearance Fees', nobody tells us where the money is coming from and therefore whose responsibility it really is to pay it. You don't promise bonus based on somebody else's budget, if and when you do, provide the funds. Will we be having some of these confusions and nonsense if some 'officials' don't go jumping the gun, may be not. But this is Ghana and everybody has an opinion on BLAMES and heaven knows we have enough to go round!
