i agree with president lula. its is a curse to not include local players in the national team. i simply dont get it. i dont care how BAD you thnk the local lg is. you MUST include local players in the national team. these same local clubs go outside the country an do well within the continent playing against other continental clubs. so why refuse them? you shouldnt wait for a a european club to sign the player before you give the local player a CHANCE to represent their country. if you are a good coach with an eye for talent you know a good player from a bad player regardless of where they play their soccer. spain, france, england, germany, italy all have citizens who play outside but they also make sure to include local players in the national team. canada, usa and mexico have several players in europe but they also include mls and mexican lg players in their national teams

Because in every tournament the Brazilian team is full of foreign based players who are super stars - who either play for Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG, Man United, Liverpool etc, and they are first team players, not bench warmers. So to not include any of these players is not going to augur well for the team, at least in the short term
