Funerals are very emotional. Last year a a good friend of mine passed away..he didn't even tell me he was sick. We even roadtripped together. I would text and talk to him on the phone. Suddenly, I get a call saying he passed. I couldn't believe it. I was texting this guy a few days ago..his death was very strange to all of us. He asked to be cremated..I couldn't go to the funeral. I just couldn't explain it but I simply couldn't. A part of me wouldn't accept that he was just gone. This is what Ronaldo is probably dealing with..a part of him hasn't accepted the fact that Jota is gone ..it happens when you are very very close with the guy

With Ronaldo’s personality it was okay to have missed the funeral because the media would have shifted attention to him rather than the actual event, what Ronaldo did was respectful and thoughtful

We don't even know what Ronaldo told Jota's wife. The same world would have blamed Ronaldo as being selfish, if he was there and the press had shifted focus to him.
