Track N Field is nothing like soccer pal. You talk about African athletes without mentioning
Ruth (long jumper from Nigeria)
Tobi Amusan, hurdler from Nigeria
Favor Ofili, spri ter from Nigeria
Arabic Simbine , SA
Faith Kipyegon
Nasser is actually Nigerian but naturalized in Bahrain
You do realize that planning the peaking of an athlete is a science on its own, so ething African athletes havent figured out so well case in point Omanyala. Simbine showed earlier promise bit has gone quiet ad the season hahs progressed. Joe Fanbulleh of Nigeria always makes the finals in the 200. What's in store for him? Shawn Maswangani of SA has had a hard time transitioning from NCAA to professionals.
Saminu's peak is 9.84 which is exceptional. With Kishane running 9.7 routinely, and an in-form Seville in the mix, word to Tebogo, Kung fu Kenny, Courtney Lindsey and of course the ever dangerous Lyles, Saminu will have to likely run 9.7, to have a shot at a medal. The 100M this year is highly anticipated and whether the medals or not, 9.84 is good but not good enough to guarantee a medal.
The 4x1 is an a rea they cana improve on significantly. They have the foot speed in 9.84 and 9.9 azamati. I believe ghana is faster than Japan by individual PRs but Japan is oh so efficient with their baton changes, they are always high on the list. GH needs to work on their exchanges else it is pointless and guaranteed to not make the final.
