  This guy took the risk to flee to Canada on foot through the bush during a very severe Winter in an extremely cold region of Canada (Manitoba) where temperatures can drop to -40°C during Trump's first Presidency in 2016 when that white supremacist was chasing out migrants of color as he doing now. It is frost bite he suffered from being exposed to extreme cold that cost him his fingers. I believe there were two of them. He wasn't alone. They claimed for asylum with the excuse of being gay and being persecuted in Ghana. He should thank his God that he didn't die, because an old Ghanaian woman whose relatives live here in Canada died when she attempted to make that escape on foot like they did. Canada's Winter can be deadly in some of the coldest provinces like Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan with Northern Alberta like Edmonton bring the worst. You can freeze and die in minutes in Edmonton if you get exposed during the coldest periods of Winter

  This guy took the risk of fleeing to Canada on foot through the bush during a very severe Winter in an extremely cold region of Canada (Manitoba) where temperatures can drop to -40°C during Trump's first Presidency in 2016 when that white supremacist was chasing out migrants of color as he is doing now. It is frost bite he suffered from being exposed to extreme cold that cost him his fingers. Instead of being maltreated as he is claiming here, the RCMP officers rather aided them knowing their conditions because they know the dangers of being out exposed like that on extreme cold during which period they warn people to stay indoors.   I remember this case because I lived in Winnipeg in 2016. They were two Ghanaians among the people who had frostbite when they were crossing to Emerson.

  Some Ghanaians among those who crossed the border claimed to be gays, but I don't recall if this particular person was among as those ones did not experience frostbite...I saw them at a function that winter.

First of all you used an illegal border crossing where you had to walk in an extremely cold temperature for hours that is why you suffered a frostbite and loose your fingers not because of detention. I'm also a Ghanaian who has lived in Canada for 38 years and I know Canadians are way nicer than Americans. I just can't believe how you decided to leave trump out of your story and blaming canada for your condition

  I remember this case in the news in Canada. Temperatures across the borders are usually in the -20s when they were crossing. The borders are pretty much long stretches with open fields and can be windy. Nothing to provide any sort of shield. Usually at such temperatures, if you are in the cities, buildings would provide a certain level of shield. It was quite stupid of them to cross in the winter. They could have waited for the spring, summer or fall or cross close to border towns. People have been freezing to death on the borders crossing in the winter.

  He was trying to escape to Canada from the USA during the winter storm and was caught by FROST bite that coated him his fingers.
