Dr Motsepe is the best thing ever happened to African football in the past decades and God bless him ! He sees a world of corruption and waste in the system set up by the current 2 year format no one does !

Must you blindly copy UEFA with their "annual Nations League" and Euro Championship every 4-year Cycle? We don't need Nations League as there is already CHAN for home based players. If the argument is about European clubs losing their players every 2 years for Afcon, what will happen to annual Nations league, losing these players every year? Bi-annual AFCON remains more ideal and should continue every 2 years as normal.

I quite remember One of the main reasons that former CAF President Issa Hayatou stood on his grounds for the tournament to be hosted every two years was because it helped the host nations in infrastructural developments such as new stadiums, hotels, roads, hospitals etc . This was because many African countries are poor and the AFCON was an opportunity to put up new facilities such as stadium as we just saw recently in Kenya,Tanzania and Uganda during the CHAN tournament. Ivory Coast now has six fifa standard stadiums because of the AFCON they hosted last year. Ghana added two more stadium when we hosted it 2008 and now we are even struggling to upgrade it to fifa standards and this was one of the reasons the tournament was played every years because most governments will never bother to upgrade or build new facilities. This descision was never in the interest of African football but rather our European pay masters. They have never respected this tournament and a time will come that they will tell us to scrap it. Too bad.

This means Ghana will go trophy less for the next hundred years if measures and not put in place.
