Not impressive. The quality and style of both boxers tells no future.

That shambolic performance from you guys and u are calling for recognition? Both of you lack basic boxing skills, endurance, and ring craftsmanship. One of u would have died if u had gone 12 rounds

HOW??? That claim is preposterous?
1. Boxing in Ghana was already established long before Macbones
Ghana has a rich boxing heritage dating back many decades, particularly rooted in Bukom, which has produced multiple world champions (like Roy Ankrah, DK Poison, Azumah Nelson, Ike Quartey, Joshua Clottey, etc.). The sport’s popularity and structure existed long before Macbones’s professional career. The sport didn’t begin 3–4 years ago.
Counterpoint: Macbones may have contributed to visibility, but he did not found or save Ghana boxing — it predates him by generations.
2. Macbones’s professional experience is limited
Available fight records and reporting show that:
Macbones is UK-based and his professional career has involved only a handful of fights so far.
Tapology
His recent bout with Tetteh ended in a loss, and even during that fight, he was penalized and did not win a major title — which weakens claims of having single-handedly transformed the sport.
Modern Ghana
Counterpoint: Bragging about transforming the national sport doesn’t align with the level of major competitive success he’s had.
3. There’s no evidence he expanded boxing nationwide
While Macbones is a viral personality and media figure, there’s no independent reporting or data confirming that boxing has spread across Ghana because of him. Growth of boxing participation — especially amateur and grassroots growth — is driven by multiple fighters, promoters, gyms, and community efforts, not one individual.
Counterpoint: Popular social media presence isn’t the same as measurable impact on a national sporting ecosystem.
4. His background shows other priorities
Past coverage highlights that:
Macbones spent years pursuing boxing from abroad (London), sometimes focusing on other work like being a chef and business ventures.
Yen.com.gh - Ghana news.
He even considered changing national licensing before boxing internationally, indicating that his focus hasn’t always been building the sport in Ghana from within.
Adomonline.com
Counterpoint: His career suggests personal ambition and individual branding, not a sustained developmental role in national boxing. Summary — Why the Claim Is Overstated
You can counter his “I saved Ghana boxing” claim by pointing out:
Ghana boxing was already well-established with deep history and champions long before Macbones.
His role’s real impact appears limited to personal visibility and social media buzz, not structural transformation.
No official reports, federation announcements or statistics credit him with building boxing in the country.
His own career path shows limited sustained engagement with the local boxing system. Man, thaw down, Freezy, your claims are too “frozen” Thaw, even the legendary Mayweather never made such claims about boxing but honored greats like Hall of Famers like Mohamed Ali, Azuma Nelson, etc. Freezy, I don’t totally blame you BUT those non-facts-checking so-called journalists (maybe for fear of “repercussion” likely a punch to lips or nose, they refuse to research before their unnecessary yelling. Congratulations to the boxers and the organizers.
