Derrick Köhn earns high rating in Union Berlin’s 1-0 win over Freiburg

Black Stars defender, Derrick Köhn delivered a solid all-round display to help Union Berlin secure a narrow 1–0 away victory over SC Freiburg in the Bundesliga.

Operating effectively on the left, Köhn combined defensive discipline with calm distribution to play a key role in Union Berlin’s hard-fought win.

The 25-year-old recorded 33 touches during the match and showed efficiency in possession, completing 14 of his 19 passes (74%).

Köhn also contributed in advanced areas, completing two of his five passes in the final third while demonstrating his ability to switch play with four accurate long passes from seven attempts.

Defensively, the full-back stood firm against Freiburg’s attacking pressure. He was involved in eight duels, winning two aerial battles out of two, while also claiming three of six ground duels.

His defensive awareness was evident as he completed two successful tackles, registered one interception, and made two crucial clearances to help maintain Union Berlin’s slender lead.
