Ghana’s Abdula Ahmed made the nation proud by winning the WBA Africa Cruiserweight title during the Legacy Rise Sports fight card on April 10, 2026, at the Bukom Boxing Arena.
Ahmed faced a tough challenge from Nigerian boxer Oraboro Eradaye in a keenly contested bout, with both fighters giving their best.
Using his height advantage, Ahmed kept his opponent at bay with long shots that landed effectively and earned him crucial points.

Eradaye responded with powerful punches of his own, some of which connected well while others were blocked.
In the latter stages of the bout, the Nigerian asserted himself with more energetic punches, while Ahmed appeared slightly weary in his attempts to secure a knockout, which ultimately proved unsuccessful.
Although both fighters ended the bout exhausted, the contest remained intense and had fans roaring until the final bell, thanks to the end-to-end action.
At the conclusion of the fight, the three judges unanimously scored in favor of Ahmed, awarding him his maiden African Cruiserweight title.
The Legacy Rise Sports fight card attracted numerous personalities from the sporting, political, and entertainment fraternities, who came to support boxing in Ghana.
Sports Minister Kofi Adams, NSA Director-General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture John Dumelo, Dr Likee, Asamoah Gyan and several others were all in attendance at the Bukom Boxing Arena.
