Collins Atta Poku is the CEO of Aduana Stars
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Aduana Stars FC, Collins Atta Poku, has disclosed that limited playing time was the reason behind Dominic Frimpong’s loan move to Berekum Chelsea.
According to him, the 20-year-old was unhappy with his lack of playing time and made his grievances known to club officials, as it was stalling his development.
Atta Poku explained that the club had agreed to his request, impressed by his performances, and expected his return at the end of the 2025/2026 season, until tragedy struck.

“We wish we were wearing white, not black, to bring you good news. We stayed with him at Dormaa, but we wanted him to play regularly, which is why we convinced him to go there, and his performance was evident to all. We were waiting for him to finish the season and return. It’s left with five matches,” he said during a visit to Frimpong’s family house in the Central Region.
Atta Poku also revealed that the owner of Aduana Stars, Osagyefo Agyemang Badu II, also known as Dormaahene, extended his condolences to the family.
He noted that the Dormaahene is ready to support the family with the burial and other needs, and has expressed his wish for Frimpong’s body to be moved closer to his parents.
“We were informed about the incident, so we went to Osagyefo, who guided us on what needed to be done. He also asked us to inform the family and let him know the next necessary steps so he can provide support. He is also unhappy with where his son is lying, so he wants the family’s permission to bring him closer to his parents,” he added.
Dominic Frimpong died during a robbery attack while Berekum Chelsea were returning from a Ghana Premier League game against Samartex.
