100% support getting them young, However we shouldn't be dropping them when we qualify for high level tournament and bring in GFA influenced selection. Eg Baba Rahman over Kohn and making space for 5goalkeepers

That should be the main supply line. The foreign born players who opt to play for the BS can come, but they will be few and quality when they see the quality we already have among the groomed talent at home who have played among themselves for years. That will create a high standard for anyone who wants to play for the BS to look up to.

The soccer academies and player agents can do so much as the parliament, the President, the GFA and the Sports Ministry allow them to get away with. Why are systems like that working in Senegal and Morocco with amazing success when many years ago we used to be the leaders in producing young talents in Africa?

Late Ben Koufie saw the development of young talents in 1999 as the foundation of Black Stars but he never got Govt support.That is when we could have started what Morocco & Senegal are doing.Check the success we had between 2006 - 15 at AFCON & WC. Govt shd quickly invest in modern infrastructure and restructure National Sports Authority to take control of our National teams. Ministry of Sports shd also take a second look at what our private football academies are doing.

That is the truth. All under 17 who won the world titles were nursed at the youthful stage. Just to mention a few greats in those days: Odartey Lamtey,Mohammed Gago ,Yaw Preku,Asamoah, etc.

Hmmm, it hurts, but it is a fact. 1. Ghana needs to completely overhaul its sports system and develop a support structure for retired athletes. Many of our former athletes live difficult lives in old age after serving the country. This creates a bitter taste for future generations. Restructuring should also include a special insurance policy they can pay into during their active years, with the government contributing monthly—70% from the athletes and 30% from the government.
2. The bitter experience does not deter only old sports families, but everyone whose kid was born outside and must face the decision of whether or not their child should become a Ghanaian athlete. Patriotism alone, although it can go a long way, does not guarantee commitment. The lives some Ghanaians lead abroad are extremely difficult; it's hard to expose their children to a hard life in Ghana without a place to sleep.
3. Corruption must stop in all sports areas, and selections should be based on merit; only then can trust be restored. Transparency is crucial, and how do we achieve that transparency? My take!
