Forward Ernest Nuamah, who came on in the second half, burst through Wales' defence and forced a fine diving stop from Darlow, but Yirenkyi was on hand to nudge the ball home.
Wales got an equaliser in the 93rd minute with a diving header from substitute forward Luis Koumas.
The Black Stars will now face Jamaica in their last friendly, which will be behind closed doors, before their first game at the World Cup.
