The team was severely weakened by the absence of key players such as Kudus, Salisu, Djiku, and the experienced captain Andre Ayew. Many also advocated for the inclusion of Hudson-Odoi, Nketiah, Acheampong, Amuzu, Lavia, and others, yet these same players faced strong opposition from some Ghanaians when the opportunity arose to bring them into the national team.

As long as there is no credible, structured youth development program and football administration continues to be undermined by corruption and officials promoting their own interests, teams, and preferred players, it will remain difficult to build a consistently competitive Black Stars team.

Considering that the new coach had only two months to prepare the squad, he performed admirably and deserves to be retained. The players also demonstrated commitment and determination despite facing intense criticism and abuse, and they deserve the support of the nation.

The passion Ghanaians have for football is undeniable. However, the energy that has sometimes been expressed through threats and abuse directed at players would be far more productive if it were channeled into demanding greater accountability, transparency, and responsible leadership from the country's political leaders and football administrators.

It's also essential to recognize that simply changing coaches may not be the most effective solution for addressing poor performance over a brief period. A more constructive approach to improving Ghana soccer would be to establish a national soccer academy. This institution would focus on nurturing and developing talented players for our national teams, including under-20 squads, and beyond.

He ought to have used the same squad that played England plus the same strategy that almost beat England had the referee or VAR been fair to Ghana and world soccer. This rented Portuguese coach bragging about his experience with the Colombia team and speaking Spanish certainly favored the Colombia team over Ghana’s. Does anyone remember how Otto Addo abandoned us after the Qatar 2022 disaster? How did Otto handle the captaincy re Kudus & Jordan & Partey? His behavior on the touchlines? Not qualifying for AFCON (24 teams)? We were bottom of our group during our latest participation at AFCON. Pathetic.

FINALLY, DID OTTO MEET THE HIRING CRITERIA SET DOWN BY OUR OWN GFA? If the answer is NO,then why was he hired? The answer is obvious. You know why and l know why. GFA IS THE PROBLEM. GFA members have personal interests. Some own clubs and therefore their personal interests supercede the national agenda.
