Interesting. But this explanation raises more questions than answers.

The interviewer should have asked the obvious question: How does a first-time traveller to the U.S. obtain a visa to attend a tournament with only a one-way ticket? Anyone who has gone through the U.S. visa process knows it is not a walk in the park.

If Kurt Okraku indeed helped Charles Taylor secure a U.S. visa, then credit should be given where it is due. Many people have tried for years to get a U.S. visa without success. My husband is one of them. Maybe I've finally discovered the secret: defend those in authority long enough, and when the time is right, your star will shine.

What also surprises me is this: legends like Opoku Nti, Abdul Razak, Mohammed Polo, Anthony Yeboah, Sulley Muntari, and many others are not constantly in the media attacking administrators. Yet Charles Taylor always seems to find himself at the centre of controversies that make others unpopular.

According to Dan Kwaku Yeboah, Charles Taylor feels disappointed because he believes Kurt Okraku has not appreciated his loyalty over the years. If that's the real issue, then perhaps this debate is more about personal disappointment than patriotism.

At the end of the day, Ghana football is bigger than Kurt Okraku, Charles Taylor, or any individual. Criticise when necessary, praise when it's deserved, and put Ghana first. As President John F. Kennedy said, "Ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country."

Patriotism is not measured by how loudly we criticise, but by how honestly we contribute.
