Black Maidens ready for decisive Senegal clash – Basiru Deen

Black Maidens assistant coach, Sumani Basiru Deen, has assured Ghanaians that the team is fully fit and prepared for Saturday's July 11, 2026, crucial second-leg encounter against Senegal in the final round of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup qualifiers.

The Maidens head into the decisive fixture looking to seal qualification for the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup after earning a positive result in the first leg.

Speaking ahead of the match, Basiru Deen revealed that although a few players picked up knocks in the first encounter, all have recovered and are available for selection.

"There were a few knocks from our game against them at home, but currently everybody is okay and everybody is ready for the match," he said.

The assistant coach stressed that the technical team is approaching the game with the same seriousness as every other qualifier, adding that the players remain highly motivated to finish the job.

"Every match we take very seriously, not just this one. Right from the time we started preparing for these qualifiers, we have had all the motivation we need, especially from the Football Association. The girls have been ready from day one and, as we speak today, they are fully prepared," he said.

"The motivation and their commitment level are very high, and we believe victory will be ours tomorrow," he added.

Basiru Deen also appealed to Ghanaian supporters to turn out in large numbers to cheer the team to victory, recalling the impressive backing the Maidens received earlier in the qualification campaign.

"We always thank the fans. When we started this World Cup qualifying campaign, we saw the massive support they gave us throughout. I am calling on them to come in their numbers so that tomorrow we will all rejoice and celebrate victory together," said.
